Suspect arrested following targeted shooting in Chilliwack
A 24-year-old Abbotsford man has been arrested following a shooting in Chilliwack last week.
RCMP were called just before midnight on Oct. 2 to the 9400-block of Corbould Street for the report of a shooting. Investigators on scene determined the target was a parked vehicle and that the suspect had been driving in a white sedan.
Just after midnight, Fraser Valley Traffic Services stopped a white sedan on the Trans-Canada Highway in Abbotsford. The driver was taken into custody while officers seized a loaded sawed-off shotgun and a rifle from the vehicle.
Brodie Gregory Douglas is now facing charges of careless use or storage of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace, assault and mischief.
Douglas remains in custody and will appear in court this month.
"Fortunately no one was injured in the shooting which we believe was targeted," said Cpl. Mike Rail in an emailed statement. "The investigation remains open as GIST (general investigation support team) and officers from the Lower Mainland District Integrated Forensic Identification Section continue their thorough examination of the evidence gathered by police."
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact investigators at 604-792-4611.
