A short time after the shooting was reported in Surrey, a vehicle was found abandoned and set on fire in Langley.
"I can confirm that the Langley RCMP is presently on the scene of an early morning vehicle fire in the area of 8500 204 Street," said Cpl. Craig van Herk in an emailed statement Monday morning. "It is very early in the investigation so we have not made any determination as to cause, connections or owners of the burned vehicle."
It is unknown whether the vehicle fire is connected to the Surrey shooting Monday morning or another shooting incident in Langley a day earlier.
On Sunday around 3:45 a.m., Langley RCMP also received calls about possible gunfire. There were no injuries in that incident and police have not said whether it was a targeted incident against the residents at that location.
