TORONTO -- After months of negotiation, Jazz Air LP and its pilots have reached a tentative labour contract, the airline announced Friday.
Some 1,500 Jazz pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, had been without a contract since June of last year.
"I commend the ALPA leadership and Jazz management teams involved in the process for their hard work and professionalism," said Joseph D. Randell, president and chief executive of Jazz.
Contract details were not provided.
Separate negotiations with 760 flight attendants and 33 crewmembers are still ongoing.
Dispatchers ratified their collective agreement in March and Jazz¹s technical services division reached an agreement in September. The airline's customer services and aircraft services staff ratified in December.
The collective agreements are part of the 2009-2010 renewal of all Jazz's labour contracts. Jazz is Air Canada¹s regional carrier and operates approximately 840 flights daily to 85 domestic destinations.
