Chris Rock admits he gets uncomfortable when people tell him he's one of the most influential comedians of the past two decades.

"Really? Really? Really?" said Rock, 44. "I'll take it, but I try not to give it that much thought. It's not good for you, you know what I mean? Derek Jeter can't be thinking, 'Oh, you're an iconic Yankee' when he's up to bat.

"Put it this way, it's great and I'm happy more for my parents than me. My family can really enjoy stuff like that. Me, I have to work."

Speaking of work, Rock lends his voice to the new holiday special Merry Madagascar, which debuts tonight on NBC.
