'Being Erica' season finale Tuesday

Erin Karpluk stars in CBC's "Being Erica."

By BILL HARRIS, Sun Media

Everyone says it’s wise to follow your heart. But what does that mean in real terms, especially in tough economic times?

When is risk-taking foolish? And when is it brave?

Those are some of the big-picture questions in the second-season finale of Being Erica, which airs Tuesday, Dec. 8 on CBC.

Erica (Erin Karpluk) is at a crossroads both in her career and in her relationship with boyfriend Ethan (Tyron Leitso). Ethan, by the way, really has become too much of an unconvincing wet blanket this season.

Anyway, it’s only after Erica transforms herself from patient to therapist while helping Kai (Sebastian Pigott) that she feels equipped to handle the newest challenge Dr. Tom (Michael Riley) has given her.
