LONDON — He has saved the world more than once, but even Arnold Schwarzenegger hasn’t been able to terminate bankrupt California’s economic crisis.
So is it any wonder most observers expect the 62-year-old governor to happily return to acting when his term ends in January 2011?
And given this, could it mean a reunion with his Terminator and True Lies director James Cameron?
“It’s a possibility,” Cameron says. “We haven’t talked about anything specific. And I’m not sure he’s even interested in coming back to acting, but I’ve got a suspicion he wants to. But only if he can come back as a movie star.”
Not that Cameron is happy to see his friend leave office, defending Schwarzenegger’s political record.
“I think he did as good a job as is humanely possible to do given a screwed-up situation. I don’t think people are going to realize what a good job he’s doing until he’s not doing it any more.”
