LOS ANGELES — American actor Mark Valley of Human Target made himself a human target for Canadian hockey fans.

“Our crew is Canadian, and there’s always some competition between Canadians and Americans, but Canadians are sort of more quiet about it than Americans,” said Valley, whose series shoots in Vancouver and airs on Fox and CTV.

“So when the United States beat Canada (in the early round of the Olympic hockey tournament), of course I let everybody know. I had American flags flying around.”

But then the two teams met again in the gold-medal game, with Canada winning in overtime.

“The way the Canadians rubbed it in was, they didn’t say anything,” Valley said. “Nobody said anything to me about the game the whole day, till the afternoon when one guy said, ‘Uh, did you catch the game?’

“So I thought it was pretty funny, they just let me stew over it.”
