Little Mosque on the Prairie is hoping for a big finish with its series finale, which airs Monday, April 2 on CBC.
Little Mosque debuted in January 2007, and it’s amusing to recall how controversial it was at the time. Now the doors to the Mosque finally are closing - or opening, depending on how you look at the finale, which has a nice symmetry to it if you consider how the series began.
In the final episode, titled The Best of Times, Amaar (Zaib Shaikh) prepares for the opening of Mercy’s new Mosque as he persuades Baber (Manoj Sood) to end his boycott. Meanwhile, Rev. Thorne (Brandon Firla) must get over a job-related mental block and Rayyan (Sitara Hewitt) is busting to break some big news of her own.
Also Monday on CBC is the first-season finale of sitcom Mr. D, as Gerry (Gerry Dee) uses a charity boxing match to try to get something he desperately wants.
