American Idol winner Phillip Phillips will have to wait another week to undergo kidney surgery after falling ill with a high fever.
The singer, who was crowned the winner of the 11th season of the reality show last week, was hospitalized shortly after making it to the finals - but fought through the pain and discomfort of a congenital kidney condition to compete.
He was scheduled to go under the knife on Tuesday, but doctors have postponed the operation until early next week to allow him time to recover from a bad sinus infection, according to TMZ.com.
