The director of the Kick Ass sequel Balls to the Wall has hinted Jim Carrey will make an appearance in a cryptic tweet.

Carrey's name has been swirling around the project for weeks and now Jeff Wadlow appears to have let fans know the rumours are true - by using the one of the funnyman's most famous movie lines in revealing he has his Colonel character.

In a post on Twitter.com, the director writes, "6 days till we start shooting... and we officially have our Colonel. Alrighty f'n then!"

Carrey's Ace Ventura pet detective character's go-to phrase was 'Alrighty then'.

The sequel will reteam Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse from the original, while John Leguizamo has also signed on for the film.
