'Flashpoint' enters fifth and final season

There's a heartbreakingly beautiful song by Canadian singer-songwriter Ron Sexsmith called In a Flash. I've always thought somebody should use it in a video tribute to a retiring athlete or something.
But since it's called In a Flash, and with Flashpoint entering its final season, starting Thursday on CTV, well, maybe there'll be an opportunity somehow, somewhere.
Some of the lyrics go like this: "The end must come for some good reason, I've heard it said before. To everything a time and season, what was this season for? In a flash, in a flash, there one moment and gone in a flash."
It's hard to believe Flashpoint, a Toronto-set and Toronto-shot project, has been around since 2008. The series, which follows an elite police strategic response unit, also aired on CBS in its early years.
To the creators and stars, including Hugh Dillon, Enrico Colantoni, Amy Jo Johnson, David Paetkau and Sergio Di Zio, it probably feels like Flashpoint was there one moment and gone in a flash.
For viewers, there's still a fifth and final season ahead. But all things considered, maybe Ron Sexsmith said it best.
