There is a feud brewing between Donald Trump and actress Tilda Swinton, TMZ.com reports.
The Oscar-winning actress signed a petition that accused Trump of bullying residents in Scotland as the Trump Organization plans to build a new state-of-the-art golf resort. Trump received permission to build the golf course in 2008, but critics say some local residents could be evicted to make room for the resort. They also claim the plans are "environmentally unfriendly."
Trump responded in a statement yesterday, saying Swinton is too late and he already has all the approvals he needs to move forward.
"Where was Tilda Swinton three years ago when everyone else was petitioning? She's a little late in the game, don't you think? Swinton is a part of a tiny little group of people who are hanging by a thread -- 93% of the public in Scotland are in favour of the project. I have all of my permits and approvals and we're going to start construction in three weeks," Trump's statement said.
Bloomberg.com reported that Trump is still trying to win over some homeowners in the area where he wants to build the US$1.63 billion golf resort. Donald Trump Jr., vice-president of development at his father's company, said in September that four property owners didn't take an improved offer on their homes.
