Rihanna's ex-boyfriend Chris Brown has taped a segment for MTV in which he addresses the beating that led to his guilty plea to a felony assault charge, says people.com.

"My thoughts (when I look back on it now) is like, 'Why did it happen?' Like, 'What was I thinking?'" the R&B musician, 20, says in excerpts released on MTV.com.

Brown says he is now in group therapy.

When asked what sparked the assault, Brown replies, "Just anger ... Yeah, anger ... Young people, we do before we think."
