Spider-Man won't be taking Rachel McAdams for a spin, after all.
Despite online reports the Canadian actress would play the villainous Black Cat in Spider-Man 4, McAdams tells Entertainment Weekly the rumours are false.
"I was hanging out in Toronto the other day and someone came up to me and said, 'I just heard you're doing Spider-Man 4.' And I said, 'Really? No one told me!' It's not true."
McAdams already has one franchise on the go: Next month's Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law, which producers hope will spawn multiple sequels.
Spider-Man 4, starring Tobey Maguire and directed by Sam Raimi, begins filming next year for a May 2011 release.
