Noel Gallagher wants to deliver his own victim impact statement in a Toronto court.
Gallagher, guitarist for British rock band Oasis, was battered on stage in September 2007 by Daniel Sullivan of Oshawa.
Crown prosecutor Ruth Neilson asked today that Sullivan's sentencing be adjourned to acommodate the celebrity rocker's request.
Justice Richard Schneider reluctantly agreed, saying the case needed to be dealt with quickly.
Sullivan, 48, already had pleaded guilty to the assault causing bodily harm at a Virgin Music Fest on Toronto Island.
A drunken Sullivan stormed on stage mid-song and knocked down the unsuspecting Gallagher as he played guitar.
He then headed toward Gallagher's brother, Liam, but was intercepted by security.
He was later found to have three cracked ribs and the band was forced to cancel several concerts.
Loyal Oasis fans have lambasted Sullivan on-line, with some going as far as calling for his execution.
A new date for sentencing has not been set.
