Abba tribute acts to be sued?

Executives at Abba's record company Universal Music are threatening to sue 15 tribute acts, demanding they change their names.

Legal notices have been sent off to the 15 groups who are basing their acts and monikers on the hit Swedish pop band.

Lawyers for Universal allege groups including Abba Mania and Swede Dreamz Abba Tribute are infringing on the band's intellectual property rights.

The acts will have to seek new titles to avoid further legal action - although the group's biggest tribute act, Bjorn Again, will not be affected by the clampdown.

Abba Queens' singer Anneli Stockwell has been left devastated by the action, saying, "We worked our way up from pubs to theatres. If we have to change the name we'll lose all that business and reputation."
