Natural health

By ELENA KRASNOV

Q: I have hyperhidrosis and I would like to know if there are natural ways to help fight against this.

A: Sweating is necessary to control body temperature during times of exercise and warm and hot surroundings. Sweating is regulated by the sympathetic nervous system. In 0.6 to 1.0% of the population, this system is revved-up and works at a very high level causing sweating to occur at inappropriate times in specific areas of the body. This condition is known as hyperhidrosis. The most non-invasive, naturopathic method that I found effective with my patients seems to involve deep tissue and organ detoxification. By doing tissue cleansing, following diet, and frequently using hydrotherapy I have found that those adhering to the protocol for at least three months had good results. Sweating is one of the natural ways for our body to detoxify. Based on our genetic traits tend to favor one method of detoxification over the other. Those who experience sweating as their body's preferred way to detoxify appear to sweat a lot more then others. This should not be suppressed because according to homeopathic principles, if sweating is suppressed, toxin build up can occur and lead to a more severe disorder.
