Canada's lone wonder

By NICOLE FEENSTRA

There are so many natural wonders in Canada, from Niagara Falls to Dinosaur Provincial Park to Gros Morne National Park, but just one has made the short list for the New7Wonders of Nature campaign.

The Bay of Fundy joins the Grand Canyon, Iguazu Falls and Mount Kilimanjaro as one of the final 28 natural nominees in the world.

"Congratulations to the supporters of the Bay of Fundy from around the world for their passionate, inspiring work in bringing them up from over 440 participants into this elite finalist group of just 28," said Bernard Weber, Founder and President of New7Wonders, in a release. "This is an extraordinary achievement and the eyes of the planet will be upon the Bay of Fundy and Canada for the next two years."

The public will now be able to vote via the web, text message or phone on the final seven. The seven winners will be announced in 2011.

Do you think N7W got the list wrong? Should Niagara Falls have been included? What about the Rocky Mountains?

If I had the chance to pick the top 7 Wonders of Nature in 2011, this would be my list. Do you think I'm way off? Check out the final 28 nominees and let me know which ones you think will survive the final cut.

1. Amazon Rainforest

2. Iguazu Falls

3. Matterhorn

4. Grand Canyon

5. Great Barrier Reef

6. Uluru

7. Jeita Grotto
