Sebastian Albrecht survived the Grouse Grind Monday and has the T-shirt to prove it.
The 33-year-old Vancouver realtor managed to push himself up the grueling 2.9 kilometre uphill hike a record 13 times, finishing his day-long challenge just in time to catch the last gondola down the mountain at 11 p.m.
The previous record, 12, was held by Albrecht and fellow hiker Jason Chong.
Grouse Mountain staff commemorated Albrecht's epic achievement by giving him an "I survived the Grind" T-shirt and snapping a few victory shots of the dead tired, but elated, hiker.
Albrecht used his successful record-breaking attempt to raise money for the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation in support of people who have suffered from abuse.
