Vancouver Canucks' general manager Mike Gillis has added president to his office shingle after the resignation of Chris Zimmerman.

The sophomore general manager is taking Zimmerman's old title after the October 2006-appointed former Nike executive quit Canucks Sports and Entertainment. A Tuesday news release said Zimmerman left for family reasons and will move back to the eastern United States.

"These past three years have been a tremendous personal and professional experience for me and I have loved working and living in the greatest hockey city in the world," Zimmerman said in the news release.

"Chris' passion for our business, our hockey team and our city will be missed," Aquilini also said in the news release.

While Gillis gets a new title, CSE chief operating officer Victor de Bonis assumes control of Zimmerman's workload, which includes broadcasting, marketing, sponsorship and ticket sales, finance, human resources and arena operations.

Former Canucks, Vancouver Grizzlies, General Motors Place and Greater Vancouver Open boss Tod Leiweke was named to CSE's board and becomes an advisor to Aquilini, de Bonis and Gillis. Leiweke is CEO of Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen's Vulcan Sports and Entertainment, which owns the Seattle Seahawks, operates Qwest Field and has a stake in Major League Soccer's Sounders FC.
