Car explodes


Aftermath of an explosion in Vancouver Thursday morning.

Witnesses say a speeding car struck a pole and blew up in south Vancouver early Thursday morning.

The accident happened near the intersection of 49th Avenue and Dunbar Street in Vancouver just after 4:30 a.m.

The vehicle rolled for nearly two blocks after colliding with a pole before it blew up.

The occupants of the vehicle were treated by paramedics but their condition is unknown.

Vancouver police are expected to update media about the incident later in the day.
