A lawyer at the Braidwood inquiry accused the four officers involved in the death of Robert Dziekanski of lying under oath.
Government of Poland lawyer Don Rosenbloom said the officers' nearly identical - and erroneous - statements and testimony can only mean one thing.
"They lied under oath," Rosenbloom said in his closing submissions at the inquiry yesterday. "I allege there has been a self-serving collaboration between the officers."
All four officers said Dziekanski was agitated on arrival, constantly yelling, swung a stapler at them, held it above his head and moved toward them in a threatening gesture. They also said Dziekanski was not taken down after the first Taser shock and had to be wrestled to the ground.
"Of course, none of these claims are true," said Rosenbloom. "All four officers advanced to IHIT an almost identical and fictional account."
