More than 50 pieces of aboriginal artworks were featured at the Vancouver Convention Centre over the weekend.
The exhibition, made possible through the 2010 Venues' Aboriginal Art Program, is about a third of the entire collection, which will be on display at Olympic venues from Richmond to Whistler.
"Our goal is twofold: To increase public understanding of diverse works created by First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples and to raise funds for our young people so they can follow their dreams, which may include becoming successful aboriginal artists themselves," said Tewanee Joseph, CEO of the Four Host First Nations.
The artworks will be featured in the first Games-related book to be published, available Nov. 2.
Proceeds from an auction of select pieces held Friday night will go towards the Vancouver 2010 Aboriginal Youth Legacy Fund.
