The H1N1 virus continues to take its toll on the province, according to the BC Centre for Disease Control.
Figures released yesterday show two more people died because of the virus since Oct. 13.
Both deaths occurred in the Fraser Valley Health region.
That brings the total number of H1N1-related deaths in the province to nine.
Eight of those deaths involved underlying medical issues. The death of a 26-year-old mother in Mission last week remains the only person to succumb to the virus to have no underlying medical conditions.
The number of severe H1N1 cases has also gone up since Oct. 13. Thirty-three new "severe" cases - those requiring hospitalization - were reported throughout the province. There have now been 111 total confirmed severe cases in B.C. since the flu first broke out.
