A Vancouver woman says her trip to the United Nations in New York has encouraged her to campaign for social justice.
Kirsty Matthews was one of five finalists from around the world flown to New York over the weekend after her YouTube video - outlining what she would tell world leaders - was picked in a UN contest.
So on Friday, Matthews flew to New York, where she toured the UN and chatted with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
"He was saying we have the opportunity to reach other citizens to make change," Matthews told 24 hours yesterday, noting the trip inspired her to do more.
"We have the responsibility to speak out when we see social injustice"
