Organizers at Virgin 95.3 hope they'll have enough bras by Friday to span the length of the Capilano Suspension Bridge and back.
But the chain of brassieres aren't throwaways from drunken concerts, they've all been donated in support of breast cancer research for the radio station's Bras Across the Bridge.
"It's equal parts awareness and fundraising," said promotion director Crosby McWilliam. "For every bra we collect, our friends at BC Honda Dealers will donate $2 for breast cancer research, and we'll have a great media spectacle."
All Red Robin restaurants and BC Honda dealers in the Lower Mainland are currently collecting bras.
Volunteers will also be at Commercial Drive and Broadway Friday from 7 to 9 a.m. to collect any last minute donations before the delicates are strung together live during the Kiah and TaraJean show in the afternoon.
There's no catch... just drop of a bra or two and $2 will be donated for each one.
"We're not asking for anything, this is us adding our support," McWilliam said. "So many people have been touched by breast cancer, sadly so."
