That night was definitely a good night

By MICHAEL SCHRATTER

From the Black Eyed Peas and U2 Wednesday to back-to-back soirees at the Society Dining Lounge and the Halloween crescendo at the JetSet Crew bash Saturday, weeks such as last week don't come along too often.

But when they do, you're left feeling like a spent corn husk wondering what the hell just happened.

The weekend started Wednesday with the world's greatest rock band, U2, and their opening act, Black Eyed Peas, blowing the roof off B.C. Place with about 60,000 fans rocking and screaming to their favourite contemporary and classic tunes.

Less than 24 hours later, Glowbal Restaurant Group launched its two-day Society bender.

With the Coast Restaurant opening having been the party of the summer, the Society Dining Lounge opening was abuzz with Glowbal expectations.

Delivering as promised, Society is the hip new place in Yaletown.

Masks, lascivious liquids and a Halloween that happens to fall on a Saturday that is both lit up by a full moon and extended by the end of Daylight Savings Time, all made for a fascninating evening.

And it's easy to see why children everywhere are mourning that their night of trick-or-treating had been hijacked by adults.

Sunday morning saw an invasion of satiated vampires, sexy nurses, and beer-stained werewolves leave the JetSet Crew Halloween bash at Monk McQueens and venture down Cambie Bridge to join their brethren haunting the city centre.

On the Town's Michael Schratter takes a bite out of unsuspecting Amy Hooi at the JetSet Crew blow out.
