Isotope grant just in time

The B.C. Cancer Agency among other partners received a $1.3 million grant to develop an alternative source for medical isotopes.

The two-year trial will determine if the particles used for medical imaging can be produces outside of nuclear reactors. About $1.5 million of the research grant comes at a time when demand for medical isotope alternatives has never been greater.
