Police raid gang boss’s abode

By MATT KIELTYKA

Charges against a high-ranking gang boss of the Red Scorpions are pending after police raided his home in Aldergrove last week.

Police raided the home in the 26900 block of 26A Avenue Thursday and seized $80,000 worth of cocaine, a kilogram of crystal meth, a handgun, boxes of ammunition, a bulletproof vest, $12,000 in cash and a Red Scorpion T-shirt.

“[The suspect] is somebody high up on the food chain, he is on a lot of people’s radar,” Abbotsford PD spokesperson Const. Ian MacDonald.

Unfortunately for police, the 34-year-old suspect wasn’t home when police barged through the front door and he remains outstanding on numerous drug and weapon offences, along with a 23-year-old woman.

Because Crown counsel has not approved charges yet, the names of the suspects have not been released.

Police say the male suspect is linked to a number of previous gang-related incidents.
