Local gangster gunned down in Toronto
By MATT KIELTYKA
Toronto cops aren't seeing an increasing West Coast gang presence in town. That's despite the murder of Vancouver's Shane Kelter, who was gunned down while exiting a limo in Toronto's Bay Street. Kelter, 32, was a known member of the Lower Mainland's Independent Soldiers gang and was implicated in a drug ring in California. Vancouver is often cited as a distribution hub for organizations moving drugs across North America, but Toronto Police Service spokesperson Const. Tony Vella hasn't noticed a growth of B.C. thugs moving in with B.C. bud. "In my experience, I haven't seen an increase on that level, of people coming from Vancouver to Toronto for that purpose," he said. |
