CHARGED
Police have charged 33-year-old Surrey resident Kamaljit Singh Dhanoa with the second-degree murder of his 32-year-old wife, Tejinder Kaur Dhanoa. Investigators discovered her body at a home in the 13000 block of English Place in Surrey Tuesday night after she was reported missing.
GIRL ASSAULTED
Vancouver police have released a composite sketch of a male suspect accused of sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl Jan. 4. A man approached the girl as she sat on a bench near the entrance of Arbutus Square Mall at 6 p.m. He lured her to a nearby park and assaulted her. The suspect is described as being in his early teens, 5'1 to 5'5' tall with short blonde hair. Anyone with information is asked to call the VPD sex crimes unit at 604-716-3473.
UFC DATE SET
Now that the UFC has clearance from the city to host an event in Vancouver, details of their proposed pay-per-view event are starting to emerge. According to popular mixed martial arts blog MMAjunkie, June 12 has been picked as the date for UFC 115 at GM Place. Vancouver city council voted in favour of a two-year trial for professional mixed martial arts events in December.
