Rob Bauman supports the 2010 Winter Olympics, but not the way VANOC created a 13-acre parking lot without public input.
The strata council president at 919 Station Street said neighbours of the biggest downtown Olympic support venue have been ignored by city hall and Vancouver 2010.
"They need to be a bit more communicative with the community that live here, pay taxes and are helping fund the event," Bauman said.
VANOC plans to use the lot through March 31 to search 300 delivery trucks daily for guns and bombs as well as for parking, fueling, cleaning and repairing 200 buses and 120 vans and shuttle buses a day.
Bauman said Station Street is full of potholes flooded with more rainwater since VANOC added asphalt and gravel to the site. Round-the-clock traffic noise and diesel exhaust could make it unlivable for condo owners who don't know if police will let them access their parking lot.
Bauman said a June 22 meeting hosted by the False Creek Residents Association offered few answers from city hall, VANOC or Vancouver 2010 Integrated Security Unit officials.
"The right people were there with none of the information they needed," he said. "VANOC doesn't really have its act together when it comes to things like transportation plans."
A VANOC Game Plan open house at Robson Square on downtown transportation restrictions planned for Wednesday has been delayed until Jan. 13, the day after the third transportation plan release.
