Maxim is to motherhood what oil is to water – they just don’t mix.

But Danielle Nelson, mother of an adorable two-year-old boy named Ty, is shaking up sexist stereotypes as a contestant in the men’s magazine’s Hometown Hottie competition.

“I think it would be a good thing,” said the 25-year-old blond of a mother taking first prize in the competition. “There are a lot of moms who are able to be moms and still take care of themselves.

“Just because you chose to go that route with your life, you can still get out there, have fun and do things as well.”

The application to enter the contest asks hopefuls if they’re in a relationship, but not if they have children.

Had Nelson been given an opportunity to answer she would have been truthful.

“I’m very proud of my life and I’m very happy,” she said. “I would want to give an image that it’s a different way.”

Nelson, who works weekends as a poker dealer for The Bachelor Plan, said she keeps her days low-key by taking care of Ty.

“I think that if somebody saw me on the street or my friends and stuff would see me as an everyday person. I’m not anything that’s oozing sex appeal.”
