Blame for Stanley Cup Riot shifts to the City of Vancouver and police: poll 0
The blame for June's Stanley Cup Finals riots seems to be shifting, according to a new poll from MRG Research Group. While respondents of the survey are still placing greatest responsibility on the "agitators who intended to make trouble," the City of Vancouver and Vancouver Police Department are seen to carry more blame.
On a scale from 0 to 10, with 10 being most responsible, the 400 people who responded moved the city moved from 4.9 to 5.7. The police also moved from 4.4 to 5.1.
Heading into a civic election campaign, Mayor Gregor Robertson said he didn't think the survey would affect him at the election polls in November.
"I'm convinced this election is going to be more about affordable housing, about a good transportation network here in Vancouver and around the region," he said.
