Separate trial for gangster Bacon
Gangster Jamie Bacon will stand trial separately from his co-accused in the Surrey six murders, the Crown announced Thursday.
Cody Rae Haevischer, Matthew James Johnston and Quang Vinh Thang (Michael) Le will get a separate trial.
All four accused continue to face the same charges in connection with the deaths of six individuals - including two innocent bystanders - in October 2007 at the Balmoral Tower building in Surrey.
Proceedings this way will allow the trial of the other three accused to go on without being affected by issues that only involve Bacon, according to Crown lawyer Neil MacKenzie. Neither trial date has been set.
