A rare 240-year-old violin worth $50,000 that was stolen along with a $3,000 bow from a car parked at Metrotown last week has been recovered, RCMP said Tuesday.
The Joseph Nadotti Fecit 1772 violin was recovered Friday by Burnaby RCMP Strike Force personnel.
The items were swiped from a 2002 green Chevrolet Venture, along with a white- and tan-coloured Louis Vuitton bag, two new Apple laptop computers and an iPhone.
A woman had locked the items in her car - which was parked in the underground parking lot of the Metropolis at Metrotown - and returned to the mall to continue shopping. She returned to her car 30 minutes later and shortly after driving off, realized the pricey items had been taken.
