A rare 240-year-old violin worth $50,000 that was stolen, along with a $3,000 bow, from a car parked at Metrotown last week has been recovered, RCMP said Tuesday.
The Joseph Nadotti Fecit 1772 violin was recovered Friday by Burnaby RCMP Strike Force personnel.
It was unclear whether the other items were recovered.
The items were swiped from a 2002 green Chevrolet Venture, along with a white- and tan-coloured Louis Vuitton bag, two new Apple laptop computers and an iPhone.
A woman had locked the items in her car - parked in the underground parking lot of Metropolis at Metrotown - and went shopping. She returned 30 minutes later and shortly after driving off, realized the pricey items had been taken.
