Local Playboy model Melissa Marie Peters is among the contestants on the upcoming series of The Bachelor Canada, it was revealed Wednesday.
The North Vancouver single mom is vying to win the affection of former CFL player
Brad Smith. The show, which debuts Oct. 3 on Citytv, follows the same format of its U.S. namesake where a distinguished bachelor eliminates contestants seeking his affection every episode until one remains.
The finale often concludes with the man proposing to his final pick.
Peters, who works as a travel consultant, is described as an avid kick-boxer, albeit with a softer side. She's a self-described geek and a homebody who enjoys the quiet life.
Out of the contestants revealed, Peters, the only B.C. resident, appears to have the most notorious past; she's up against an Albertan pastor and an Ontario realtor, among others.
Due to contractual constraints forbidding media contact, Peters couldn't be reached for comment.
