Trades funding for women announced 0

The Industry Training Authority announced Thursday $3,303,000 in funding to support more women in B.C.'s skilled trades.

Through the 2012-2013 Women in Trades Training initiative, some 425 women will gain access to trades training programs, complete essential skills and upgrading, and receive financial support for childcare, transportation, work gear, tools and equipment.

Since it was first established in 2008, the initiative has helped more than 1,500 women.
