A pane of glass plunging 36 storeys down a construction site in downtown has netted developers a work stoppage order at the 1372 Seymour St. site.

WorkSafeBC's Donna Freeman said Sunday window installations at The Mark, an Onni Group development, have been frozen by the regulator pending investigation into how a 90-kilogram window fell onto a car Thursday.

Residents have expressed concern at the site's proximity to neighbouring drive and walkways, and some allege debris had previously fallen from above.

Freeman said investigators have had a previous complaint of a falling metal stub and window.

Onni said Thursday was an isolated incident and maintains the previous debris doesn't match materials they use.
