The RCMP's bomb squad was called to a Moncton, N.B., garbage-processing
plant Wednesday morning after workers sorting trash noticed a container with
explosives.
The workers were sorting through dry waste at the Berry Mills facility when
they discovered three small cartridges of high explosives.
“In this case, these explosives could have harmed an innocent person because
they were discarded carelessly," said RCMP Const. Brian Barnes. "We are
lucky that employees discovered them and reacted properly by calling us."
Officers spent several hours searching through the trash to make sure there
were no more explosives.
