TORONTO - Police say a fake undercover cop is targeting prostitutes, offering to trade their freedom for sex.

The suspect stopped his car and picked up a woman on Friday, police said. He allegedly claimed he was a cop and demanded sex from the woman - or she would be arrested.

Police said the woman escaped and called cops around 11:30 p.m.

Detectives said a similar case occurred on Nov. 18, 2011, only the woman wasn't able to escape. Police said the suspect sexually assaulted her.

The suspect is described as white, about 5-foot-9 with a medium build, brown eyes and short dark hair.

He was driving a newer small car.

Investigators believe there could be other victims. They are asked to call the sex crimes unit at 416-808-7474.
