An employee at Montreal’s La Ronde amusement park died Friday afternoon after being hit by a ride.
Police said the man was in a "restricted area" when he died.
Police have not released the identity of the victim, but QMI Agency has learned that he is between 55 and 65 years old.
The death is not considered criminal, police spokesman Yannick Ouimet said.
A spokesman with Quebec's emergency services department said the victim's body suffered "major trauma." The man died at the scene, police said.
Montreal's La Ronde is located on an island just south of the city's downtown core. The park released a statement Friday afternoon confirming that an employee had died on the job earlier that day.
La Ronde is owned by Six Flags and is Eastern Canada's largest amusement park.
