Fake penis got her fired, woman charges 0
A Pennsylvania woman says packing a prosthetic penis got her fired from her job.
According to the Philadelphia Daily News, Pauline Davis, who was contemplating a gender change, wore the device to the J&J Snack Foods plant in South Jersey.
In a federal civil rights complaint filed in U.S. District Court last week, Davis says she confided in several co-workers about the device, and that someone told management.
The 45-year-old woman is claiming gender and gender-identity discrimination because "another male employee had taken hormone treatments and wore female prosthetic devices and dressed in female clothing, however this male employee was treated more favorably in so far as he was not terminated or disciplined in any way for wearing a female prosthetic or female clothing."
Davis' lawyer, Lalena J. Turchi, told the newspaper that Davis' fake penis was concealed and "in no way interfered with her ability to do her job."
