A 43-year-old Halifax man has been arrested for allegedly going door to door trying to sell drugs.

Police received a call around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday that a man was knocking on doors in Dartmouth, located just north of Halifax.

Officers found the suspect. Police said he had a variety of prescription drugs, including hydromorphine, Valium, clonazepam and OxyContin. He also had a brass knuckle-switchblade combo, police said.

Police said the suspect caused some minor property damage while officers were booking him.

The man is facing charges of possession of a prohibited weapon, four counts of illegal possession of a controlled substance, and mischief under $5,000.
