German-language al-Qaida video seeks recruits for holy war
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

BERLIN, Germany — German authorities say the nation remains on alert after the release of the third al-Qaida video in a week, this time calling on Muslims in Germany to take part in jihad, or holy war.

German Interior Ministry spokesman Stefan Paris said Wednesday authorities do not view the video as increasing the existing terror threat facing the nation, but officials remain on alert.

The latest video was released on Thursday and is believed to feature the voice of Bekkay Harrach, who uses the pseudonym Abu Talha and also issued the last video. In all three he speaks in German.

Harrach’s previous two videos issued threats linked to German troops’ presence in Afghanistan and Sunday’s election.
