A nine months pregnant Michigan woman who was abducted, shot and set on fire survived the attack and is recovering. The unborn child was not harmed.
Police have the woman's ex-boyfriend -- the father of the baby -- in custody, along with another man, the Detroit Free Press reports.
According to the report, the 22-year-old expectant mother was dropping off her ex-boyfriend at his house in Warren, Mich., just outside Detroit, on Saturday when she was grabbed from behind and bound and gagged with duct tape. She was forced into a car and driven to an unknown location, where she was doused with lighter fluid and set alight.
She doused the flames by rolling on the ground. Then one of two gunshots hit her in the back before the assailants fled.
She broke free from the duct tape, drove to a gas station and called her mother.
Police told the paper an ultrasound was performed and the baby appeared to be fine.
The ex-boyfriend and another man are in custody and facing charges of attempted murder.
Police have not released the identities of the suspects or the victim.
