If you’re single and looking for a new
place to flirt, it might be in your best interest
to at least feign an interest in wine.
Last week’s Taste B.C. 2008, Liberty Wine
Merchants’ celebration of local food and
drink went well, with hundreds of people
enjoying local wines and local restaurant
pickings, all the while raising proceeds for
B.C. Children’s Hospital.
The annual Liberty event is just one of
many wine tastings to be had in our fair city.
Vancouver has become a world leader in
the art of bringing new and veteran wine
lovers to the table. Don’t believe me?
The upcoming Vancouver Playhouse
International Wine Festival is the largest
in North America and within the top
three in the world. Yes,
Vancouverites seem to have vino
coursing through their veins …
and sex on their brains.
Having been to my share of
wine tastings, I am starting to
notice a serious trend here; gatherings
of flirtatious single adults, all
donned in their best courtship gear,
cruising the room making bedroom
eyes left, right and centre.
Food and wine have always been an integral
part of seduction. Wine tastings have
simply expanded the romance into a larger
opportunity for allurement.
Single and looking? My advice: Suit up or
doll up, and get out there and sip.
