Leo Award glam hits the red carpet
By MICHAEL SCHRATTER

It was all beauty and glam at The Leo Awards 2007. The 9th annual celebration of excellence in BC film and television had the red carpet out in front of the Westin Bayshore on Friday and Saturday night, with gorgeous actresses and handsome actors making the hotel Vancouver’s weekend hot spot. Entertainment Tonight Canada’s Erin Cebula interviewed the stars with humour and hilarity, while Launch Rx Fashion & Film showcased talented local designers and boutiques.

But you know, the BC film and television industry isn’t just about beautiful faces and talented egos. Providing over 15,000 jobs and generating over $1 billion in economic activity, the industry truly benefits all British Columbians.

Presently I am in a neck brace, soothing my whiplash injuries caused rubbernecking over all of the gorgeous models and actresses. With a bit of luck I am hoping to get a little workman’s compensation out of the deal.

Photo: The Leo Awards had L2 model Amanda Morden and local designer Jason Matlo vogue. Jason’s designs are selling fast at Leone.
