THE BUZZ: It's too bad the Canucks can't play at GM Place all season long, after they improved their home record to a league best 6-2-0 with a 3-0 win Sunday over the Colorado Avalanche.
UP IN NW: The win also moves Vancouver to second in the division with 16 points, surpassing both Edmonton and Calgary, although the latter has three games in hand on the Canucks.
SHUTOUT: Andrew Raycroft, who only faced 18 shots, recorded his first shutout of the season, and his first since a 3-0 win with Toronto in November of 2007. At the other end, Av's Craig Anderson made 17 saves for only his third regulation loss this year.
OPENER: Mason Raymond opened the scoring, his fifth goal of the season, after finishing a rebound off an Alex Edler shot. The Canucks are now 4-4 when scoring first this season. Ryan Kesler, who recorded an assist on Raymond's tally, gave the home team a two-goal lead 6:28 into the middle frame, while Tanner Glass registered his first as a Canuck in the third to give Vancouver a three-goal cushion.
ONE BACK, ANOTHER OUT: Although Kyle Wellwood returned from a broken toe last night, the Canucks lost Michael Grabner to an undisclosed injury prior to the game. Vancouver has now lost 75 man games to injuries this season.
UP NEXT: The Canucks will look to continue their impressive record at GM Place Tuesday when the New York Rangers make their one and only visit to Vancouver.
